Booking and quotations

How do I request a quotation?

Use the contact form or call James. Include the postcode, property type, clear scope, photos and preferred timing.

Are quotations free?

Initial quotations are free. Complex faults or projects may need an agreed paid diagnostic visit or survey before a final fixed price can be confirmed.

Do you take on very small jobs?

Yes. Smaller repairs, accessories, lighting, fault finding and testing are an important part of the service.

Can you give a price from photos?

Sometimes for straightforward work. Hidden wiring, circuit protection, routes and access may still need a visit.

What can change an accepted quotation?

Customer-requested changes or hidden conditions outside the stated assumptions are discussed before any extra work proceeds.

Do you require payment in advance?

A deposit may be requested for material-heavy or staged work. Any payment schedule is stated in writing before acceptance.

Domestic electrical work

Can you work in an occupied home?

Often, yes. Isolation, furniture, dust, flooring and making good need to be planned realistically.

Do you install customer-supplied fittings?

Suitable products can be installed after checking location, instructions, dimensions and compatibility.

Does older wiring always need replacing?

No. Condition, protective measures, design and test results matter more than age alone.

Will electrical work damage walls?

New concealed routes may require chasing or access. Surface routes or existing voids can reduce disruption. Making-good responsibilities are stated.

Do you install outdoor sockets and garden power?

Yes, for suitable projects after assessing route, load, environment, protection and earthing.

Can you install an EV charger?

Suitable charger projects and enabling work can be assessed. Product, supply, network and notification requirements must be clear.

Landlords, reports and paperwork

Do you provide EICRs?

Yes. The scope, access and circuit information are agreed before the inspection.

Does an EICR include remedial work?

Not unless specifically included. Findings can be followed by a separate remedial quotation.

Will I receive certification?

Relevant electrical documentation is provided where it forms part of the agreed work.

Can you contact the tenant directly?

This can be agreed after the landlord or agent has arranged appropriate notice and authority.

Do you guarantee legal compliance for a rental property?

No. Electrical services support the agreed duties, but the landlord or agent remains responsible for checking current law, licensing and property-specific requirements.

FAQ category

Commercial and industrial work

What size commercial projects do you accept?

The focus is smaller shops, offices, landlord premises and carefully scoped projects that can be delivered safely with available labour.

Do you take large industrial contracts?

The focus is suitable light industrial work. Major shutdowns, complex design or large teams may require another delivery arrangement.

Can you work outside business hours?

Potentially by prior agreement. Availability and any additional cost are included in the quotation.

Do you install three-phase circuits?

Suitable defined circuits can be assessed where equipment data, supply capacity and responsibilities are available.

Do you design fire alarm or machinery systems?

No blanket design claim is made. Electrical work can be provided to suitable supplied design information, with specialist roles clearly allocated.

Urgent faults and safety

Are you a 24-hour emergency electrician?

No fixed 24-hour service is advertised. Urgent enquiries are accepted subject to current availability.

What should I do if I smell burning?

Keep clear, avoid touching damaged equipment and isolate only if safe. For fire, smoke, shock or immediate danger, contact the emergency services or network operator.

Should I keep resetting a tripped breaker?

No. Do not repeatedly reset a device that trips again, especially if there is heat, smell or visible damage.

Can every fault be repaired in one visit?

No. Hidden, intermittent or proprietary-equipment faults may need parts, further access or specialist input.
